Despite progressive innovations to end the HIV epidemic, barriers exist to HIV prevention services such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) care, particularly for underserved populations. To expand the reach of PrEP while addressing existing disparities and inequities in the HIV care continuum, community practitioners need to be educated on evidence-based PrEP medications and PrEP guidelines as well as bias, cultural sensitivity, and structural barriers.
In this CME Outfitters Snack, a diverse panel of expert faculty will discuss PrEP options, PrEP guidelines, implicit bias in underserved communities, tools for measuring bias, clinical approaches to PrEP conversations, and strategies for individualizing PrEP care to facilitate equitable access in clinical practice and public health.
This program has been supported by an independent educational grant from Gilead Sciences, Inc.
