Statement of Need

Racial disparities in potentially life-saving interventional cardiology care exist and persist even with otherwise equal access to care. Untreated or undertreated cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation (AF), can have serious consequences, including heart failure (HF) and stroke. Action steps for clinicians to help mitigate health disparities in cardiac arrhythmia care include increased awareness of disparities and improved adherence to guidelines for HF management.

In this CME Outfitters BriefCase, expert faculty will present two to three patient cases that will showcase how clinicians can integrate best practices to mitigate disparities in the management of cardiac rhythm disorders across race, ethnicity, and gender.
