Anisha B. Dua MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology, Rheumatology Fellowship Program Director, and Director of the Northwestern Vasculitis Center at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Dua’s interests are in rheumatology education and vasculitis. She completed her Rheumatology fellowship at Rush University as well as fellowships in Medical Education at The University of Chicago and Integrative Medicine at Northwestern.

Dr. Dua currently leads a multidisciplinary team in the clinical management of vasculitis patients. She assisted in the development of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Guideline for the Treatment and Management of Vasculitis, is on the Board of Directors for the Vasculitis Foundation, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Council for the Rheumatology Research Foundation. She is the chair of the e-learning Subcommittee and co-chair of the Workforce Solutions Committee, Virtual Training Programs for the ACR. She has served in leadership capacities both locally and nationally through the American College of Rheumatology, the Vasculitis Foundation, and the ACGME in the areas of education as well as vasculitis. Michael E. Wechsler is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at National Jewish Health (NJH) in Denver, Director of the NJH/Cohen Family Asthma Institute, and Associate Vice President for Innovation and Industry Relations at NJH. In addition to clinical work in pulmonary and critical care medicine, Professor Wechsler’s research focuses on clinical and translational asthma with emphasis on clinical trials in asthma, novel asthma therapies, bronchial thermoplasty, asthma pharmacogenomics, and management of eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (i.e. Churg-Strauss Syndrome). He has led studies focusing on novel biologic agents for asthma and related diseases, including benralizumab, dupilumab, mepolizumab, reslizumab, and tezepelumab. He has published more than 270 peer-reviewed manuscripts relating to asthma, EGPA, and eosinophilic lung diseases. He was a member of the Steering Committee and site Principal Investigator (PI) of the NIH-sponsored Asthma Clinical Research Network (ACRN, now called AsthmaNet), a multicenter asthma clinical trials consortium, and currently serves as the PI of the Denver site of the Precision Intervention in Severe/Exacerbating Asthma (PRECISE) network. A member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians, he has participated in many different task forces related to the study of eosinophilic lung diseases that were sponsored by the NIH, the FDA, the European Respiratory Society, and the International Eosinophil Society. He is currently Associate Editor of the journal Chest and has served as Associate Editor of the journal Allergy and on the editorial board of the European Journal of Clinical Investigation.

Dr. Wechsler received AB and MMSc degrees from Harvard University in Boston and an MD degree from McGill University in Montreal. He completed medical training at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and as part of the Harvard Combined Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Training Program.</br.

Chelsey Smith, FNP-C, is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She originally attended Shadyside School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA, where she received her RN. Chelsey then pursued her interest in nursing, graduating with honors, from Chatham University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While working in the neuroscience intensive care unit stepdown in Pittsburgh and providing pediatric home health care, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Family. Chelsey is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP and licensed in Pennsylvania. She has worked primarily in a retail health care setting as a nurse practitioner since 2013. She has a passion for community health and for care across the lifespan. When not in the clinic, Chelsey enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys (age 10 and 13), gardening, and traveling.

Dr. Alyssa Gallipani, PharmD, BCACP, is clinical assistant faculty at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She practices as a clinical ambulatory care pharmacist at RWJBarnabas Health. She is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties and completed ambulatory care residency training at the Brooklyn Hospital Center. Dr. Gallipani provides direct patient care in collaboration with primary care providers at Barnabas Health Medical Group. She treats chronic disease states, including viral hepatitis, and works to improve access to and affordability of medications and to reduce the cost of care. She had the pleasure of collaborating with the Center for Asian Health to screen and treat individuals with viral hepatitis and participate in community outreach and clinical care initiatives. She presented at multiple viral hepatitis organizations, including the Hepatitis B Foundation and the Hepatitis B United Summit. Dr. Gallipani precepts advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) students and residents to advocate for the role of the pharmacist as future providers. She is honored to be a part of the panel today with other leaders and trail blazers in the profession.

Su Wang, MD, MPH, FACP is the Medical Director of Viral Hepatitis Programs and the Center for Asian Health at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and a member of the RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group. She is Past President of the World Hepatitis Alliance, a non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to viral hepatitis elimination.

Dr. Wang is an internist and has served as primary investigator for a number of viral hepatitis screening and linkage-to-care grants sponsored by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other funders. She has led primary care-based hepatitis B and C programs, community outreach efforts, patient-based advocacy, and community-based research initiatives.

Dr. Wang has served on a number of World Health Organization (WHO) guideline development committees producing “Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of Hepatitis B Virus: Guidelines on Antiviral Prophylaxis in Pregnancy” and “Interim Guidance for Country Validation of Viral Hepatitis Elimination.” She is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and serves on the steering committee for the HBV Special Interest Group and the Viral Hepatitis Elimination Taskforce, and is on the Patient Advisory Group.

She received her medical degree from the University of Miami and her Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Dr. Wang completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatric residency at Georgetown University Hospital and then served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer for the CDC at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She was previously the Director of Hepatitis Programs at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center in New York City.

Marc Cohen, MD, is the Chair of the Department of Medicine at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC) in New Jersey, recognized by Newsweek as one of the world’s best hospitals. Formerly, he was Chief of the Division of Cardiology and Director of Cardiology Fellowship Training at NBI for 17 years. He was part of the TAVR team at one of the most active Valve Centers in New Jersey; Dr. Cohen is currently Professor of Medicine at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey.

Dr. Cohen has been instrumental in the expansion and enhancement of the Department of Medicine, augmenting an award-winning veteran team. During his tenure, NBIMC has reached a 1,100-heart transplant milestone and 1,000 TAVRs. As one of the top Centers in the US, specialists in intracoronary imaging, heart transplant, mechanical circulation devices, advanced lung disease, and lung transplant are able to care for a full range of health care options from routine to advanced critical care. Dr. Cohen is very proud of the 100s of Fellows and residents that he mentored.

Prior to NBIMC, Dr. Cohen served as Chief of Cardiology and Director of Clinical Research at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and was director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab there for ten years. He received his MD with honors from the New York University School of Medicine, and completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the Board of Cardiovascular Diseases, and the subspecialty Board of Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Cohen is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, and is a member of the Cardiovascular Health Advisory Panel to the Commissioner of Health of the State of New Jersey. He has participated in many clinical trials, serving as the lead investigator of the international, multicenter ESSENCE trial, ACUTE I, ACUTE II, TETAMI, SEPIA-PCI, and as the co-lead investigator for the PRISM trial.

Dr. Cohen has authored or coauthored more than 400 articles including more than 200 peer-reviewed original papers. He has been a member of the editorial boards of Journal of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Invasive Cardiology, and the Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis, and Coronary Revascularization Therapeutics.

Dr. Stanford is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics who practices and teaches at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)/ Harvard Medical School (HMS) as one of the first fellowship-trained obesity medicine physicians worldwide. She is among the most highly cited obesity medicine physician-scientists with over 170 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Stanford received her BS and MPH from Emory University as an MLK Scholar, her MD from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine as a Stoney Scholar, her MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government as a Zuckerman Fellow in the Harvard Center for Public Leadership and her executive MBA as a merit-based scholarship recipient from the Quantic School of Business and Technology. She completed her Obesity Medicine & Nutrition Fellowship at MGH/HMS after completing her internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of South Carolina. She has served as a health communications fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and as a behavioral sciences intern at the American Cancer Society. Upon completing her MPH, she received the Gold Congressional Award, the highest honor Congress bestows upon America’s youth.

Dr. Stanford has completed a medicine and media internship at the Discovery Channel. An American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation Leadership Award recipient in 2005 and an AMA Paul Ambrose Award for national leadership among resident physicians in 2009, she was selected for the AMA Inspirational Physician Award in 2015. The American College of Physicians (ACP) selected her as the 2013 Joseph E. Johnson Leadership Award recipient, and the Massachusetts ACP selected her for the Young Leadership Award in 2015. She is the 2017 recipient of the HMS Amos Diversity Award and the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) Award for Women’s Health. In 2019, she was selected as the Suffolk District Community Clinician of the Year for the Reducing Health Disparities Award for MMS. She was chosen for The Obesity Society Clinician of the Year in 2020. In 2021, she was awarded the MMS Grant Rodkey Award for her dedication to medical students and the AMA Dr. Edmond and Rima Cabbabe Dedication to the Profession Award, which recognizes a physician who demonstrates active and productive improvement to the profession of medicine through community service, advocacy, leadership, teaching, or philanthropy. She is the 2021 Recipient of the Emory Rollins School of Public Health Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2022, the National Academy of Medicine selected her as a Scholar in Diagnostic Excellence. She was named to the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Agriculture (USDA).

Tatiana Sadak, PhD, PMHNP, ARNP, RN, FAAN, FGSA, is an Interim Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and a Director of the Dementia Palliative Education Network (DPEN) at the University of Washington School of Nursing, Seattle. She is a Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurodegenerative Disorders. Her research and scholarship focus on informing health care delivery for people living with dementia and their care partners by generating evidence, measurement tools, and interventions aimed to support clinicians and families working together to prevent avoidable health crises and enable care partners to manage care recipients’ health without sacrificing their own wellness.

This work has been recognized with Tatiana’s selection as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the Gerontological Society of America. Dr. Sadak has received awards as a Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing, a Top Doctor/Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry, and was recognized for a distinguished single research manuscript addressing Gerontological Nursing. Dr. Sadak currently serves on the Board of Directors of the de Tornyay Center for Healthy Aging and the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Excellence.

r. Sharon Cohen, MD, FRCP, is a behavioural neurologist and the medical director of the Toronto Memory Program, a community-based medical facility which she established in 1996 for the purpose of enhancing diagnosis and treatment for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Her memory clinic and dementia research site are among the most active in Canada. Dr. Cohen has over 28 years of experience in clinical research and has been a site primary investigator for over 180 pharmacological trials in dementia, including phase 1 trials. She represents Canada on international advisory boards and steering committees and is a consultant to a wide range of stakeholders including government organizations and patient advocacy groups. She is a frequent lecturer and contributes to media events including those on medical ethics. Additionally, she is known for her advocacy of individuals with neurodegenerative diseases.

Despite holding academic and hospital appointments, Dr. Cohen chooses to practice in the community, in keeping with her belief that dementia care and clinical research are best offered in the real-world setting.

Dr. Eric Tangalos is Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He served as Chair of Primary Care Internal Medicine from 1997 to 2006. Dr. Tangalos received his undergraduate training from the University of Michigan, is a graduate of the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, and was a resident and fellow in Internal Medicine at Mayo.

He is a past president of AMDA, The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, and is a fellow and past governor of the American College of Physicians. He is a past director of the American Geriatrics Society and serves on their Foundation for Health in Aging. Dr. Tangalos served 8 years on the national board of the Alzheimer’s Association and was a member of their executive committee. He also served as Chair of the Omnicare P&T Committee for 20 years.

Dr. Tangalos was Medical Director at the Samaritan Bethany nursing home from 1981 until his retirement from Mayo in 2019.  His certification as a medical director is current and will be approved again by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) in June 2022.  He is currently recredentialed by Mayo for continuing service both to the Rochester campus and the Health Care System in Minnesota.  Over the past 3 years he has worked face-to-face with patients in Austin and has provided in-basket coverage to Austin, Albert Lea, Faribault, and Owatonna.

Dr. Tangalos has been an investigator with the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center since 1987 and is currently active with the Alzheimer’s Association as course director for a Project ECHO seminar series. Additionally, Dr. Tangalos continues to review NIH SBIR/STTR grant applications while working as a founding member of the American Telemedicine Association.

Melissa J. Durham is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and an Associate Dean at the University of Southern California (USC) Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.  Dr. Durham received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, completed a residency in Community-based Pharmacy Practice, and has a Master of Academic Medicine degree, all from USC. She has been a clinical pharmacist at the USC Pain Center since 2008, where she runs a pharmacist-led pain medication management service for patients with a variety of complicated chronic, nononcologic pain conditions. She is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with chronic pain through patient-centered and compassionate care. The value of her unique practice model has been recognized and published both nationally and internationally. Dr. Durham is also a practicing community pharmacist and provides a valuable and unique perspective of a clinician who is both a prescriber and a dispenser.

Yvonne D’Arcy MS, APRN, CNS, FAANP is an expert pain management and palliative care nurse practitioner and consultant. She has extensive clinical experience in various roles, including leading a nurse practitioner pain management consulting service at Suburban Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine, Bethesda, Maryland; pain service coordinator at Johns Hopkins Hospital Oncology department, Baltimore, Maryland; and supervisor of the chronic pain clinic and coordinator of the acute pain service at the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Florida. Ms. D’Arcy has received numerous awards and was inducted as a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2016. She is a prolific speaker and author, delivering more than 100 poster and oral presentations, publishing more than 100 journal articles on pain-related topics, and authoring eight books, including the AJN award-winning and highly reviewed Compact Clinical Guide to Pain series by Springer Publishing Company. Ms. D’Arcy has been a member of the American Pain Society, where she served on the education committee and helped draft and review national pain management guidelines. She is a past member of the board of the American Society of Pain Management Nurses as well as the immediate past co-chair of the Pain Special Practice Group of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her latest book, Pain Management for Primary Care Providers, was published in September 2020.

Johnathan Goree, MD, is a Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where he is the Director of the Chronic Pain Division, Program Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship, and Chair of the Opioid Stewardship Committee. Dr. Goree completed medical school and residency at the Weill College of Medicine at Cornell University. He completed a Pain Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta prior to joining the faculty at UAMS. Dr. Goree considers himself a quality-of-life physician who is focused on improving function through opioid-sparing interventional care. His research interests include the effects of opioid education, racial disparities in chronic pain care, and implementation science.

Lisa Coscia received a bachelor’s degree in nursing science from the University of Michigan and is a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, U.S. She received her Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator certification in 1996, which remains current. Lisa has over 30 years of experience in the field of transplantation, including as a staff nurse and transplant coordinator, and has been with the Transplant Pregnancy Registry International (TPRI) for 25 years. Lisa is active within the transplant community, and she currently holds the position of Chair of the Women’s Heath Community of Practice at the American Society of Transplantation (AST). She was also a previous board member of the International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS) from 2014-2016. Lisa has written and co-authored numerous articles about pregnancy and contraception after transplantation. Additionally, she has presented and been a co-author on abstracts which have been presented at national and international meetings on the topic of pregnancy after transplantation.

Steven Gabardi, PharmD, BCPS, FAST, FCCP, is a clinical specialist in organ transplant with the Department of Transplant Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, where he became the first PharmD to receive an academic appointment. Dr. Gabardi earned his PharmD at Butler University?s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Indianapolis, IN in 1999 and subsequently completed his residency in pharmacy practice at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA in 2000. After completing his residency, he was hired as a co-funded faculty member at Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences. His clinical practice site was at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Division of Renal Transplant working in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Board-certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist and a Fellow of both the American Society of Transplantation and American College of Clinical Pharmacy, Dr. Gabardi has published in a multitude of textbooks and peer-reviewed journals. He has been invited to speak at local, national, and international conferences on many different transplant-related topics. Dr. Gabardi became the first transplant pharmacist to be named an Associate Editor for both the American Journal of Transplantation and Transplantation. He is also an editorial board member for several other peer-reviewed journals.
